My Latest Multimedia Productions…

(*blowing dust off WordPress*)

Jesus holy mother of peasants and pumpkins hail Mary! HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN? March 2022, right when Putin invaded Ukraine. Since then, I’ve shifted gears a lot in my freelance livin’ work. It’s kept me THAT busy, so that is the excuse slip I have for not blogging on my own site for 5 months.

OTOH, I have always said that you should know me by my work, with my domain only functioning as a central hub. Judge me not by my poor stats at penguinpetes.com, but by my freelance work over on a YouTube channel with 3.5K subscribers.

Aw, what’s that, you say? You want to see some of Unca Pete’s video reviews for the $25 billion cannabis industry? Right this way, and be sure to stay tuned for more podcast news following…

My Video Productions in the Cannabis Industry

*ahem* As I’ve mentioned a time or two under the cannabis marketing tag on this site, my main contract is still with Dab Connection. Not only have I become basically the site manager (the owner is a check-in-once-a-month client, my fave). but become default cannabis industrial product reviewer.

On VIDEO, with my FACE. My face, that looks like I hitched a ride in the back of a cement truck. And my voice, a department in which God blessed me with a foghorn if foghorns could get sinus infections. And my cute little desk and bookshelves set.

I’m just going to link you to the general Dab Connection YouTube channel, then go over some highlights. I don’t know how many videos I’ve made now, but it turns out to be way more than I want to list individually. It looks like I’m in 19 videos there, reviewing smokeables, edibles, vapes, SO MANY vapes, and tons of gummies.

Average Joe Travels the California Inscape – season 5 soon!

That’s the comedy-horror fiction (paranormal / film noir / occult police procedural) podcast I’ve been working on for almost a year now! There are 4 seasons so far, and let me run you down on the low-down of this epic production which I make in collaboration with the stellar talents of Giles Edwards, Dodge Zelko (aka indie darling), Clyde Wrenn, plus the past talent of Amy M. Vaughn and Tim Rousseau.

As you can tell from the cavalcade of books, podcasts, interviews, and general creative weirdos you went to if you followed any of those links, it’s quite an art troupe we’re heading up here. We’ve become like a Monty-Python / SCTV / (NegativLand?) collective of talent in writing, podcasting, and video production. And there are SO MANY MORE projects we have planned!

Anyway, a beginner’s roadmap to the Average Joe Travels the California Inscape story so far.

  • season 1 – “The Hole in the Bungalow” You’ve heard of the “even-number Star Trek movie rule” now here’s the “AGTCI season 3 rule”: our first two seasons we goofed around just being silly. Investigation of a mystery portal in a closet leads to a confrontation between two supernatural cults. Sheer madness.
  • season 2 – “Ann’s Fetch Quest” – Even less of a season 2, more of a loose anthology of stories about the retrieval – and DRASTIC mishandling – of a holy relic, and the police chief of Chatterskull Falls being abducted and replaced by a goblin impersonator. Unholy abomination but meh, kinda fun.
  • season 3 – “America’s Most Haunted” – The true beginning of the Average Joe series. By this time, we had an organized system with me on storyboard, Dodge + other authors rotating on script duty, and Giles Edwards’ sparking voice and sound editing magic. It’s a case of a haunted hotel where the owner hires them to exorcise ghosts, but the story unfolds into a miniature Casablanca with liars and double-crossers at every turn. IMHO the best season so far.
  • season 4 – “The Long Fall” – Still in our stride, this one is a wild ride going all the way to Las Vegas and back with a plot that starts in Hawaii and 2 CIA agents half-assigning / half-kidnapping our heroes into government service. It hits a lot of notes, with each episode having its own flavor. Decent second to season 3, but you (or at least I) can tell I was trying-too-hard to match season 3.

Season 5…. STILL TO COME! I’m not about to spoil it, but let me drop this hint: We’re planning season 5 to end right on Halloween. So starting from mid-August, that tells you a lot about the kind of season a paranormal-noir podcast theater-show is planning.
