Except I’m a BLOGGER, so while everybody else posts a onesie-twosie WIP, I’m seeing my projects go by in a blur. Today is October 12th.
Here’s a round-up of everything I’ve been busy as a bee with in just this past month, right after the jump.
First, my passion project:
I Launched a Sci-Fi Podfiction Saga
So me and some of the artistic beanbags I hang out with on Twitter were shooting the bull one day and I went, “We should write a round-robin and have Orson voice it into creative fiction theater!” And before I could remove the foot from my mouth, everybody hopped on board. That made Cult of the Temponaut, produced and narrated by Orson Bennet, written by 3 writers including moi. It’s up to like 8 installments, I think it’s done or almost done. I wrote 3 segments if memory serves.
Meanwhile on the cannabis front:
I found the cult from the Wicker Man remake
No, actually, this is the Sisters of the Valley cannabis… ah, business. Though they have one of those philosophical corporate philosophies, as you can see. By the way, they’re not Catholic. Nope, the habits are to show their devotion to Mother Earth and Nature.
I wrote a gourmet guide to pairing cannabis strains with movies
Since I’ve been blogging movie reviews and cannabis for years, I’m probably one of the only experts in the world who can write such a guide at all. I’m not trying to sound conceited. The cannabis industry alone is just getting started. But anyway: Weird Movies Paired With Marijuana Strains for your smoking and viewing pleasure.
And in new departments:
I started back up at my old music Blogging gig!
I worked for the awesome music blog Lyric Interpretations in the early 2010s. I parted ways with that client who had other endeavors and needed a break. Few years go by, I notice the site’s still up seven years later. I pinged him again: If you’re going to pay the server bill for seven years, might as well have some fresh content. Sure, he was thrilled to have me back.
So OK, I MISS music blogging, it is so fun writing about music. And while it’s not the most lucrative niche in the world, like film writing, I feel I have many unique gifts to offer in music blogging.
And in returning long-time gigs:
I reviewed the enchanting 1970 Sid & Marty Krofft movie Pufnstuf!
Good golly galloping gallumpharoos, I saw somebody at 366 Weird Movies request Pufnstuf for review and I squeed for fanboy joy. I was all over it like ants on a donut. The chance to revisit the psychedelic duo that dominated children’s entertainment TV for the ’70s is always a plum assignment for me!
