Note: I said 'light' support. 3D meshes for a multi-player game with 100 sprites and characters is 'heavy'. I would if I could, and maybe someday I'll be that skilled, but I also have my hand in many other activities.

I also do work for commercial purposes, but then only for pay! Hire me through Rent-A-Coder and post an auction specifically inviting me to bid. The rule is: "Money you, money me; free you, free me."

Now for a few FAQs:

What do you use to make the wallpapers?

Amongst the quality FOSS-ware tools I use:

• Gimp - Mostly for textures and height-fields or post-processing images.
• Inkscape - The scalable vector graphics program.
• POVray - The ray-tracer. I either use one of the GUI front-ends for it, or code it myself in a text editor!
• Blender - The 3D mesh modeler. I am least proficient with this, but I pick up some more practice with it whenever I can spare the time.
• Xaos - The fractal generator.

Plus other various programs to generate patterns or produce different images. Amongst these might be any or none of:

• Xscreensaver - Sometimes handy to run in demo mode and capture a pattern.
• Tetradraw - The ANSI art program.
• Aalib - The ASCII-art library, which includes the programs aview/asciiview for rendering ASCII art.
• Pic2aa - A character art renderer, supporting ASCII, ANSI, and others.
• Xpaint, Evolvotron, cowsay, Tuxpaint... the list goes on and on. Including little C programs I twiddle out myself.

Can I get this background in a different format?

No way! I have produced these over the years, and do not keep the means to re-render them at higher resolutions as technology advances. Whatever size you see it in, that's the only size available. Same goes for image format and so on.

There used to be this wallpaper here, what happened to it?

If you saw it here before and don't see it now, it got deleted. A long time ago, I had a wallpaper blog where I vowwed to post one wallpaper per day. This led to posting a lot of garbage images, and the whole thing wasn't that popular anyway. That's where a lot of these came from. I've now sorted out the best from these old days to keep here.

Why do you do this? You're not that good!

It's a hobby. With an eye towards offering free desktop backgrounds as an alternative, for those who have no other choices. It also something I slowly make progress at whenever the mood strikes me.

Will you ever post Not-Safe-For-Work images?

No. If you're after nudity and erotic art, there's plenty to be found somewhere else on the Internet. I like a good adult picture as much as the next person, but it just isn't what I produce here.
