One of the cool things about having a blog is that you can bring stories to the world's attention that are simply too important to Slashdot or Digg. Here is the answer to the Microsoft-vs-Linux controversy that all the Internet trolls don't want you to see.

Now, who'd have thought that Linux is getting overwhealming demand overseas, yet is still taking a beating here in America? Hmmmm, let me think: there's Ubuntu, which hails from Africa. There's Knoppix, which comes to us from Germany, as does a sizable percantage of Linux distros. There's France for the origin of Mandriva. Yes, in fact, frequently half of the Free and Open Source distributions I try are not made in America! That may not seem surprising, but consider that America still has had the majority of Internet users per capita - China has just caught up in that statistic.

Here in America, the Microsoft trolls can bellow that Linux can't make it on the home PC, yet in other countries there's actual consumer DEMAND for it! It may just mean that America will be the very last country in the world to adopt Freedom Software in force. Ironic fate for "the land of the free", no?
